Hereford College of Art & Design (HCAD) is a specialist college in the FE and HE sector. In 2000, they approached Comsiant with regard to intranet provision for both staff and students. Comsiant applied its enterprise information management service called Tri-Portal, to deliver an information management service to HCAD that consists of both document and database-driven content within:

  • An Intranet for members of staff
  • A separate Intranet for students
  • An extranet for delivering online learning content
  • A single content management site for all these areas
  • Noticeboards
  • Calendars

Content Management features include:

  • Multi-faceted administrator tool: users, workgroups,nets, folders,documents,etc
  • Ability to segregate staff and students into workgroups
  • A document manager with full metadata support

All facilities are fully hosted and serviced by Comsiant.

  Based in London, Central Banking Publications is the leading independent information specialist for central banks worldwide.
Comsiant designed and implemented an online information system that allows CBP to provide a subscription service to the banking sector for daily news, events and much more.

All the above services and content publishing is maintained by CBP staff through Comsiant's information management facility. This gives them the facility to maintain services and update website content at any time via an easy to use browser-based interface .

The site is hosted and supported by Comsiant.

United Drug is a leading provider of services to pharmaceutical retailers and manufacturers. It is the largest pharmaceutical wholesaler in the island of Ireland. It is also the market leader in contract distribution outsourcing (pre-wholesaling) in Ireland and has achieved No. 1 position in the UK through its joint venture with Alliance UniChem - UDG.

Comsiant was engaged to design and develop a new client server system that reads sales and order data from a legacy mainframe database and makes it available to various intranet/extranet/OLAP subsystems. The remit further included comissioning the database server and delivering a turn key system. Comsiant continue to undertake periodic developments of the system.

The system now fulfils a key role in supporting the reporting of sales-order data to UDGs clients through online reports.

  Solvay is one of the top 40 pharmaceutical companies in the world. When Solvay Healthcare wanted to upgrade their online presence for women's health services, Comsiant delivered three sites: a public site; a private extranet for subscribing healthcare professionals and the content management site. The latter enables Solvay to populate the former two from a central, corporate author. Features include:

  • Online registration for healthcare professionals for access to:
    • Moderated discussion boards
    • Database-driven content (Press clippings, Calendar, News)
